Passed

Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone!

I passed with distinction, which I think was out of lenience based on the amount of work that I put into my thesis-- my advisor began the meeting by pointing out that I did 60 pages of translation in addition to the 50 pages that I wrote.

I'm still in the running for honors, but there's a big asian studies group meeting where they rank everybody and that's when I'll find out if I got it.

So kinda yay, but still... the questions they asked were hard and I didn't say exactly what I meant to and had to correct myself a couple of times. I really fail at thinking on the spot ;_; I mean, at least I passed...

Don't do yourself down you not only passed but with distinction! That's great :) :) And correcting yourself is so much better than just giving up.

So how do honors work at your place? I am confused by that explanation, do you have to be in a top particular percentage of the year group to gain them? Good luck :)

Thanks!

Well, I guess the heads of the department all get together and then they decide how many of us actually deserve honors.
